Ashes series rests in today's outcome

That Aussies have been able to fight hard despite the early fall of their skipper gives a known feeling that Aussies will fight relentlessly to not only regain their moral pride but also the ashes.. Aussies will be hoping the showers turn into heavier rain, and there is the chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon. Let me assure you one thing - If Aussies pull this match off with a draw, of course, with the help of rain, this Ashes series will tilt towards Aussies, as a search for a draw would mean a moral victory for them. Even though this looks unlikely, especially after the fall of Clarke towards the fag end of the day, this match will remind everyone of last series in England, when England pulled off a dramatic draw from the jaws of defeat and the rest of the series became an English carnival.

On the other hand, if England wins this match, this series, will definitely read as 3-0 or 2-1, in favor of England...and remember, England should do it before lunch time on the final day, today

Today, it was good to see Michael Clarke coming to his form with a neat 80 and his stand with Michael Hussey gave Australia a fighting chance of escaping with a draw to head to the third Test in Perth still 0-0, but the loss of Clarke to the last delivery on the fourth day gave England a major boost amid the gloomy conditions.  Adding to the late drama, the umpire Tony Hill called the appeal not out, but England asked for a review and Clarke was found guilty of putting bat on ball, to hand Pietersen his first Test wicket since 2008.

The battle will be ensuring they last that long, with only Brad Haddin and a long tail to follow Hussey and North, who will resume with Australia still 137 runs behind, at 4 for 238.
