India has itself to blame for its exit to the world cup, as their captain refuses to learn his lessons. Dhoni again gambled by opting 3 front line bowlers and inserting the WIndies. The game was gone from India at that point of time iself.
At the post match conference, Dhoni reiterated that it is the batting that failed. By saying this, he tries to justify his decision on leaving out a front line bowler. Please ask him to answer as to which Country has won batting second in the Super 8 and that too chasing this score. Dhoni cannot expect his teams to chase this score with Gambhir, Vijay failing miserably time and again. The tag of No.1 team in Tests and No.2 in one-day internationals will not hold good here. This team has to play as No.1 or No.2 in T20 as well.
I am sure that it is the captaincy and the management thinking of the game that has brought this team to this level. Normally, Dhoni would opt for batting, after having won the toss, put the score on the board and then defend the same. But in the last 2 matches, he has undone all the good work done by him in the past.
Well, Sri Lanka going down badly against Australia will have no bearing for India to reach to its Semi-Finals. Thus, it is curtains for India.
The Group standings for 'F' are as follows, after yesterday's match
