One of the reason the following teams will miss their bus enroute to Semi-Finals is because they will miss players who would otherwise have brought balance to their respective teams.
West Indies -
They have dug their own grave by not selecting their best players in Bravo and Pollard for reasons known outside cricket. Though Naraine has been cleared by ICC, yet he has on his own, withdrew to play in the World Cup. These are the big time players and surely they will all be missed.
Pakistan –
Pakistan’s team does not look that balanced a side. Though most of the players are out of form, yet, players like Hafeez, Ajmal and Junaid Khan will sorely be missed.
India –
India has its major problem in the opening combination and this is seen as a pressure situation on the middle order batmen. The Indian selection committee got it wrong by not picking Murali Vijay, Amit Mishra and Gautam Gambhir. Murali Vijay who played with aplomb in the Test matches has been in great nick and he would have brought consolidation into this batting line-up. When you play in Australia, you will surely need a leggie and Amit Mishra would have done wonders even at the cost of Ashwin. Gautam Gambhir is a far player in ODI and he would have been the 2nd opener making way for Rohit to come in as a middle order batsmen.
England –
England selectors has got it wrong by including Ravi Bopara ahead of Ben Stokes. Ben Stokes is a much better all-rounder and Bopara coming it at No.7 is wasted and is not doing any good to the team as a batsmen.
