Home Conditions and ODI form favor Aussies

The diversity of the pitches is the single most important thing which keeps our game interesting. No other sport in the world depends on conditions as heavily as cricket. Aussies are always outstanding on home conditions.

The batting depth of Aussies is really unmatched with Aaron Finch, David Warner, Marsh, Maxwell, Clarke, Smith, Watson and ever dependable Bailey. This batting lineup comes after a 5 year lull period. With the failure in the Test Series at the sub continent at the back of the mind, Clarke and his men must be wanting to act together and stake their spot in ODIs.
To me, It is a blessing in disguise for Aussies as Wade has taken over Haddin for the 1st few ODIs. This will also give Clarke an opportunity to have Wade to bat higher up the order to include a bowler..
Mitchell Johnson bowls in the WACA nets, Perth, November 11, 2014The bowling department also good with Johnson, Watto, Coulter-Nile, Marsh and Kane Richardson picking their spots. The 1st two matches are played at Perth. In six Tests at the venue Johnson has taken 42 wickets at 20.19, and frightened countless batsmen along the way at WACA. This is an opportunity for him to settle for a pair of ODIs there against South Africa on Friday and Sunday.

On the other hand, South Africans will look more rusty especially after their defeat against Aussies in the T20s.

Their batting looks depleted with Ashim Amla, Faf Du Plesis, ABD, Miller and Dumminy . The role of Miller is waning and this is the best period for Miller to stake a claim for the ODI World Cup. The bowling looks good with Steyn, Morne, Parnell and Philander.

I view this series as a curtain raiser for the world cup and Aussies will be hot favorites for the ODI series. Come on South Africa, prove me wrong!!
