A stroll in the park for the Indians

Having lost its 2 ODI's against a second string India A team, and with the loss of 2 stars - Gayle and Naraine - West Indies is expected to surrender the ODI series meekly to a team recognized as the best ever ODI team by ICC. The Indian players are on a high especially after a thumbing ODI series against England.

With the lack of batting strength, West Indies will boost itself with staggering all rounders what with Pollard, Bravo and Sammy to boot. The toss will be between Samuels and Holder and I feel that Samuels will get the nod over the later with his additional off-spin bowling.

Inconsistency is the word that can best describe this West Indies team and though Dwayne Smith can cover Gayle's absence yet he, along with Darren Bravo and Simmons is unlikely to be consistent for the entire series.

The last international Kochi hosted was between the same two teams and back then West Indies folded against spin. The forecast, though, is not great, with scattered thunderstorms and 50% chance of rain.

Indians, on the other hand, are looking for a replacement to Ashwin for the World Cup as he has been served a 'rest'. Dhoni, unfortunately, does not believe in 3 spin attack for ODI matches and we have rarely seen him operating it. Thus, Amit Mishra may get the nod ahead of Kuldeep Yadav and I am okay with this idea. I will not want the world to read Kuldeep Yadav so early. I will make him play for the Test Series.

This test series will also be an eventful series for Vira Kohli to make amends after a disastrous tour of England.

Thus, this series will be a stroll in the park for the Indians.
