India reaches a new low; Poor team selection costing India

India made a mess of the team selection by adopting a 6-5 team selection, with Ravindra Jadeja fit only to be a club cricketer.

India paid a big price by selecting Dinesh Karthik and Jadeja and this cost India into 2 big problems
  1. 200 runs defeat which means the NRR is very low for the team to bounce back into the final
  2. ICC Cricket Rating of India might slip to the 4th position
How was Virat Kohli dropped from the squad, is anybody's guess. He is a better player than Rohit Sharma or Dinesh Karthik. What has been done is that the team management has lowered the confidence of this young man by not picking him up. He has to be in the playing XI, as he has been more consistent than the lazy- Rohit Sharma. With this backdrop, he be given good amount of practice and confidence ahead of the World Cup.

The 2nd glaring mistake is the presence of Jadeja in the team. I understand that Dhoni and Kirsten are looking for an allrounder. But Jadeja has time and again proven that he is not in this league. It is better the team management thinks of Irfan Pathan as an allrounder or go with a 7-4 combination with Irfan.

Since Bhajji's confidence is low, the team teams an off-spinner and Ashwin would have been the better option. I am sure knowing Dhoni & Kirsten's refusal to their game plan, Jadeja will still be in the team against Sri Lanka and Mithun could be replaced by Ishant Sharma.
