Notwithstanding the 118 run lead put up by the Pakistani lower middle order batsman, England did stroll in the middle knocking off with 9 wickets in hand. After Cook failing again with the bat for the fourth time in this series, it needed an emphatic knock from Andrew Strauss and Jonathan Trott. Both were unseperated to guide England to an emphatic nine-wicket win in the second Test at Edgbaston to give them a 2-0 lead in the series. Both batsmen finished on 53 with the second-wicket pair making light work of a potentially testing surface as the hosts completed their sixth consecutive Test victory midway through the afternoon session
There is nothing to crowe about again for the Pakistan team, as they play at Lords for the 3rd test match. Lords test match is a flat track and will aid spin as the match progresses. Pakistan, will surely leave out Shoaib Malik and inturn will look for Mohammad Yousuf to take his place. With much talked about inconsistency in selection, who knows, they might even require the services of Younis Khan.
