Bangla-dazed by Sehwag and Gambhir

Bangladesh was bemused by its own performance - gifting the match to Sehwag in the form of carrer-best bowling performance of 4 for 6 in 2.4 overs. From a score which read 155/4, Bangladesh got themselves all out for 167. Thought I had mentioned, it would never be a cake-walk for India, but once wickets started to fall, they did not have Plan B to excecute.

Poor Short Selection
Every individual batsman of this very talented team got out to a poor shot selection. Ashraful has been in the team for about 10 years and he has not learnt from the mistakes he makes every time he throws his wickets away. That the Bangladesh's selectors keeping faith in him after repeated failures, clearly gives a wrong signal that inspite of repeated failures, he is still garaunteed a place in the XI. Thus there is no motivation to perform.
Also, Hasan, an allrounder, comes in as early as No.5 and there are strings of allrounders who can bowl and bat a bit and this is costing the team heavily. Atleast, the openers gave a rousing start with a familiar middle order collapse.

India need to worry on its bowling performance
Indian paceman have not bowled well enough - they were either pitching the ball up, allowing the batsman to clear the in-field, or, bowling wide off the stumps, giving away 21 extras, mostly in the form of wides. India need to quickly learn from this inept fast bowling performance. Whether Ojha will replace Praveen Kumar in the next match, remains to be seen.

With this win, India gains a bonus point. The points table are as follows:
