Stump Vision

by R.N.Ramkumar

After having lived to its much hype of the IPL, the World Cup T20 has begun, though with very less fanfare.

True to its expectations, India has done reasonably well in the 1st round to have a knock in the super 8. Dhoni, being a proactive leader, has wonderfully adopted 3 spin attack, and I am sure that will be the things to be followed by other teams as the match progresses. The art of the trick has been learned from him during the IPL matches.

Also, T20, is a pure mind game and ofcourse, physically draining too. The Captain has to be ahead of the situation always and to me, the captain who is able to the think ahead of the game, during the course of the matches, will be leading the team to the Semi-Finals.

We have already seen two matches, where due to inability to read the game ahead, , the team has lost - Shahid Afridi Against Australia and Grame Smith against India.

Today, Australia faces Bangladesh and South Africa faces Afganisthan. This will be a cake walk for both Australia and South Africa.

From the Super 8 matches, you can have from me a critical and a detailed analysis of the World Cup matches and who is likely to qualify for the Semi-Finals/Finals.
